Welcome Messages

From our hosts and committee

Dr. Vishnu Juwono

Dr. Vishnu Juwono

Chairperson of UI GreenMetric, Universitas Indonesia

Dear University Leaders,

It is our distinct pleasure to extend our invitation to the International Workshop on UI GreenMetric, a global forum dedicated to advancing sustainability in higher education.

Initiated by Universitas Indonesia in 2010, the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings has become a pioneering and widely recognized framework for assessing and fostering sustainability practices across universities worldwide. Through a comprehensive evaluation system, the ranking highlights institutional efforts in key areas such as campus setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, water conservation, waste management, sustainable transportation, education and research, as well as governance and digitalization.

Beyond its role as a ranking instrument, UI GreenMetric has evolved into a dynamic global network—bringing together universities, leaders, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, share innovations, and collectively address the pressing environmental challenges of our time. This collaborative spirit reinforces the vital role of higher education institutions as catalysts for sustainable transformation.

The International Workshop on UI GreenMetric offers a unique platform for meaningful dialogue and engagement. We sincerely hope you will join us in this important global gathering, as we continue to strengthen our shared commitment to advancing sustainability in higher education and beyond.

We look forward to welcoming you in Germany.

Warm regards, Dr. Vishnu Juwono
