From Frankfurt International Airport

Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA) is the closest international gateway. From the airport, take Deutsche Bahn rail services to Saarbrücken via Mainz or Mannheim, then onward to Neubrücke (Nahe) — the nearest station to the campus.

Shuttle Bus on Workshop Days

The organising committee will provide a shuttle bus between recommended hotels and the venue on workshop days (25–26 August 2026). Detailed pick-up times will be sent ahead of the event.

How to Get There By Train

• From Frankfurt am Main Hbf or Frankfurt Flughafen,
  take the train to Saarbrücken Hbf and get off at Neubrücke (Nahe) station, 200m from the campus.

• From Neubrücke Station
  Saarstraße route: Turn left to the roundabout, then right into Campusallee (500 m, wheelchair-accessible).

How to Get There By car

The Environmental Campus Birkenfeld is well situated in terms of infrastructure - directly on the federal motorway 62 and the federal road 41.
The federal motorway 62 (A 62) is a connecting motorway between the A 1 and the A 6.
Take exit 4: "Birkenfeld / Hoppstädt.-Weiersb.".
From the A 62 as well as from the B 41 the Umwelt-Campus is signposted - follow the white signs "Fachhochschule".
